What questions should I ask when looking for a quality health care plan?
Make sure it's affordable. Ensure you know the cost of things like your deductible, coinsurance, total out of pocket expenses, coverage limits and other benefits (like prescription coverage).
Know your network access. Ask about where you can go for care that is "in network". For example, are you covered for emergency care out of state? Can you go to Centers of Excellence (like Mayo)? Are alternative, complementary care options available (like acupuncture)?
Who helps you when you're stuck. Find out if this is an agent, call/text hotline, or personal portal and what the response time is.
