Sometimes a meme just resonates a little too much…

When I found this picture, I had to stop mid-scroll and crack up laughing. It’s just too true!

There is nothing perfect in this life except that life is perfectly imperfect.

Our lives have detours, breakdowns and unexpected events. Failures and successes are inevitable.

Sometimes, it even feels like we’re smoothly cruising along in the top photo. But we later realize we were actually in the middle of the bottom photo.

That’s a bit how it feels to reflect back on some of the changes that went into effect during COVID-19.

In an effort to get ‘more efficient’ and ‘more digitized,’ we have, in many cases, moved away from easy human interaction.

It is now “normal” to speak to an automated chatbox, or write an email ticket, or be directed to the FAQ section of a website before receiving assistance from a real-life human.

Even if you do talk to a human, there are often many automated hoops you must jump through before that long-awaited conversation. 

“Please listen to our menu…press 1 to…” 

“I’m sorry…I did not understand your request…please repeat that again”

The menu almost never has what you need, and pressing 0 is no longer the magic trick for bypassing the automated system!

Oh… the investment of time!!

The plan was to make it easier to access support. The reality is that this process often makes finding help frustrating, time consuming, and overall just a bad experience.

This is an experience I try very hard NOT to create for my community.

One of the reasons I send out these emails and share my direct phone/email with all of you is because I take my job as your trusted advisor very seriously!

Your situation may be:

  • A claim issue
  • Getting your ID card for your doctor while you are checking into your appointment
  • Question about a benefit on your plan.
  • A change of address, etc.

Here’s how to get help as quickly as possible (screenshot this list!):

  1. If it’s related to your health plan, call customer service at 800-3897-9027 ex 5.  
  2. IF they don’t resolve your issue on the first call – reach out to me and my office!

Know anyone else that is experiencing mayhem and unhappiness with any aspect of their health care – call me!

If I can’t assist, you will be amazed at how many other wonderful professionals I know that may be just the right person to talk with and get you taken care of ASAP!
