Last Thursday, I made a call to a woman who was referred to me but never filled out her Medical Lifestyle Review. 

She hadn’t completed the referral process because the coverage was for her Mother-In-Law, who had, unfortunately, fallen and broken her hip before she could get coverage.

The woman was frantically trying to find 24-hour home health care so that her MIL could be released from the nursing home, where she was recovering. 

The kicker is that there is no 24-hr home health care in her area.

So she was stuck. Unable to be released for home. Staying longer than anticipated in a care center.  All without a health insurance plan in place.

I really empathized for her family and felt the anxiety, stress and financial burden in my own body.

The purpose of health insurance is to help us sleep better at night. To feel safe and secure. To know we can be protected from larger-than-down-payment-sized medical bills if an accident happens.
